Lecture at the University of Giessen, “Exuberant Embodiment: A Trans Utopia for an Unbearable Present,” based on an essay of the same title forthcoming in the Journal of the Society for Utopian Studies. Using Jose Muñoz’s Cruising Utopia as a guide, I present a vision for a trans utopia centered on exuberant embodiment, which connotes the abundant, overflowing quality of complete bodily autonomy for all.
